40-Year-Old Nicholas Colby Sanders Dies in Smith County, TX Accident

Kilgore man pronounced dead after wrong-way crash

A tragic accident on September 29 in Smith County took the life of 40-year-old Nicholas Colby Sanders of Kilgore. According to DPS, a 19-year-old driver went the wrong way on State Highway 31 East around 6:40 a.m. and struck Sanders’ vehicle nearly head-on. Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene. In the same crash, two young men from Kilgore also died. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
