A tragic accident occurred on January 17 in Shafter, California, when 40-year-old Gerardo Becerra Perez was fatally struck by a train near South Beech Avenue and East Los Angeles Avenue. Authorities found him dead at approximately 9:34 a.m. The circumstances leading up to the incident were not immediately known. The investigation remains ongoing.
