4-Year-Old Ryhan Hartung Injured In Fort Ripley TWP, MN Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Friday, July 2nd at around 4:58 PM in Fort Ripley Township, Minnesota. 4-year-old Ryhan Hartung was one of two children injured when the vehicle they were traveling in was struck by a driver that pulled in front of them on Highway 371. 24-year-old Jordan Filipek was operating a Jeep Cherokee when a Dodge Journey, driven by 59-year-old Jacklynn Marlyne Backowski pulled out in front of her. As a result, the vehicles collided. Rhyan, the other child, and Jordan were all transported to Essentia Health, St. Joseph’s Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The crash remains under investigation and we send our thoughts and prayers to the victims.
