Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle

A tragic accident occurred on August 19 in Bakersfield, California, when 36-year-old Matthew David Harper was killed in a pedestrian accident. According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, Harper was crossing Wible Road near Valley Plaza Mall around 9:20 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. Harper was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the crash site. The accident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
