Man dies after being run over while trying to stop fleeing hit-and-run driver

A tragic accident occurred on July 14 in Redwood City, California, when 36-year-old Arturo Romero Cervantes was run over while attempting to stop a truck driver who allegedly fled after sideswiping a Jeep. Authorities said Cervantes fell from the truck and was fatally struck. The 32-year-old driver was apprehended and faces felony hit-and-run resulting in death and gross vehicular manslaughter charges.
