Arriving officers determined the driver never stopped at the crash scene. Tragically, Dodge died at a nearby hospital. The Sheriff's Department tracked down the suspect driver, a 21-year-old Palm Desert man, and said the person exhibited signs of drug impairment. He was arrested for felony hit and run, felony driving under the influence, causing injury, and vehicular manslaughter.
