34-Year-Old Carolyn Johnson Injured Effingham, IL Accident

Collision on Interstate 57

Tragic accident that occurred on May 27th in Effingham, Illinois. 34-year-old Carolyn Johnson was injured when the vehicle that she was a passenger in crashed on Interstate 57. Johnson was traveling in a Chevy Equinox driven by a 47-year-old man. The driver failed to slow down for current weather conditions, causing him to lose control and travel off the roadway, striking the concrete center median, before coming to a rest across two lanes of southbound traffic. Johnson was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. The driver of the vehicle was cited for driving too fast for the conditions. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
