32-Year-Old Marcio Cardiel Killed in Bakersfield, CA Accident

A tragic accident occurred on October 26 in Bakersfield, California, when 32-year-old Marcio Cardiel was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Weedpatch Highway. Cardiel was riding his bicycle northbound near the east edge of the roadway south of Muller Road at approximately 9:40 p.m. when an unknown vehicle struck him from behind. He was thrown from the bicycle and died at the scene. The driver fled. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
