Bicyclist Fatally Struck on Interstate 5

A tragic accident occurred on August 8 in National City, California, when 28-year-old Israel Valenzuela was killed after being struck by a BMW X3 on Interstate 5, south of Mile of Cars Way. The crash happened just after 12:50 a.m. as Valenzuela was riding a bicycle. He died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries. The driver remained at the site and cooperated with authorities.
