Officials later found a body on the roadway and identified the victim as Murphy Maynard. The driver who hit the pedestrian has yet to be apprehended. Anyone with information about the fatality was asked to contact the DPS office at (806) 277-1711. An investigation is underway by the Texas Department of Public Safety and Randall County Sheriff’s Office.
