Passenger dies after suspected DUI driver crashes into Friant-Kern Canal

A tragic accident occurred on April 23 in Fresno County, California, when 25-year-old Wendy Rivera Gonzalez was killed after a vehicle plunged into the Friant-Kern Canal near Jensen and Navelencia avenues. Authorities said the driver was allegedly impaired and driving recklessly before entering the canal. Gonzalez was later recovered and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
