Howard was driving her black Pontiac Vibe westbound on Highway 154 when a black GMC Sierra, driven by a 28-year-old woman, crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with Howard's car. Paramedics extricated Howard from the vehicle and transported her to the hospital with multiple injuries. The driver of the GMC was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
