Soon to be 24-year-old Shantrell Goodnight was fatally struck by a car on interstate 45. Goodnight was a passenger in a Nissan Rogue with the driver being her boyfriend. As he was driving from a final customer call for Door Dash, the food delivery service, he dosed off momentarily and crashed into the freeway. The couple was able to get out of the SUV and were standing on the freeway shoulder when another vehicle hit Goodnight. She tragically died at the scene. The Montgomery County Hospital District reported that around 11 vehicles were involved in the crash.
