A tragic accident occurred on January 23 in Nice, California, when 23-year-old Thalia Inez Ugaz of Stockton was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Highway 29 in a marked crosswalk near Howard Avenue. The driver remained at the scene, CHP said. Authorities continue to investigate. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
