A tragic accident occurred on January 12 in Monterey County, California, when 22-year-old Pearl Chavez of Marina died in a head-on collision on Highway 1 near Highway 183. Chavez’s red Volkswagen collided with a southbound Acura around 6:16 a.m. The other driver was hospitalized with major injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
