White Toyota Corolla collides with semi-truck; truck driver flees scene

A tragic accident occurred on February 27 in Castaic, California, when 22-year-old Alejandro Covarrubias was killed after his white Toyota Corolla collided with a semi-truck on the Golden State (5) Freeway near the Lake Hughes Road off-ramp shortly after 11 p.m. The semi-truck driver fled the scene. Covarrubias died from blunt-force injuries. The investigation is underway. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
