21-Year-Old Trevor Smith Killed In Port Charlotte, FL AccidentGood Samaritan trying to help victims gets hit by pickup truckPosted: 3 years agoShare Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Email This StoryCHARLOTTE COUNTYTragic accident that occurred on Wednesday December 6th at about 6:08 PM in Port Charlotte, Florida. 21-year-old Trevor Smith tragically lost his life when he was attempting to assist at a major collision on Interstate 75 just past Kings Highway. Mr. Smith reportedly pulled over onto the right shoulder and exited his vehicle to assist the initial crash that came to rest on the left side guardrail. As he crossed the highway to offer assistance, he was hit by a pickup truck. The pickup then crashed into the original accident scene. Sadly, Mr. Smith died from injuries sustained at the scene. The semi driver was transported to Lee Memorial for treatment of traumatic injuries. The two occupants of the passenger vehicle were taken to Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
