According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash took place around 6:30 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 1006. Wright, the driver of a Ford passenger car, was struck by a dark-colored vehicle, causing a chain reaction with a Chevrolet SUV and Dodge passenger car. Wright died at the scene, and two others were taken to the hospital. The driver of the dark-colored vehicle fled.
