A tragic accident occurred on January 11 in southeast Bakersfield, California, when 19-year-old Joseph Adam Cruz Jr. was killed in a pedestrian crash on South H Street near White Lane. Authorities said a northbound vehicle struck Cruz Jr. in the number two lane around 1:51 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained and cooperated with officers. The incident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
