Driver charged after passenger dies following crash

A tragic accident occurred on August 8 in Houston, Texas, when 19-year-old Jael German Santiago allegedly drove a Nissan Rogue off the road and into a ditch. According to police, an unidentified 21-year-old passenger died the following day after being hospitalized. Santiago suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested and charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury. The charge may change following the passenger’s death. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
