The driver Katherine Garcia failed to negotiate a curve along Pet Mill Road, causing her Toyota to travel over a sidewalk and become airborne. The vehicle then struck a tree, causing both occupants to be ejected. The driver sadly died from injuries sustained in the crash. Ms. Monroy suffered injuries and was transported to WellStar Kennestone hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the Cobb County Police Department.
