Authorities said Cowgill was a passenger in a Nissan Altima that was involved in a head-on collision with a Dodge Ram 1500 on State Highway 90. The Dodge Ram, traveling north, attempted to pass another vehicle in the southbound lane and crashed into the Nissan. Tragically, Cowgill lost her life in the crash, along with two other individuals, including the driver of the Nissan. A third occupant of the Nissan and the driver of the Dodge Ram were hospitalized with injuries. Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
