17-Year-Old Jose Manuel Banda Killed in Nederland, TX Accident

Teen struck by dump truck along busy U.S. 69

A tragic accident occurred on March 3 in Nederland, Texas, when 17-year-old Jose Manuel Banda was struck and killed by a dump truck while walking along the northbound lanes of U.S. 69 near Spurlock Road. Emergency crews responded quickly, but Banda died at the scene. The driver was not hurt. Deputies are working with the Texas Department of Public Safety as the investigation continues.
