A tragic accident occurred on August 9 in Palo Alto, California, when 17-year-old Emily Fiedel was struck by a Caltrain just north of the East Charleston Road crossing. The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m., and Fiedel, a Gunn High School student, died from her injuries. Authorities noted she was the seventh person killed on the tracks in 2025.
