Teen passenger dies after vehicle strikes utility pole on Gateway East

A tragic accident occurred on April 18 in El Paso, Texas, when 16-year-old Jennifer Lopez was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 6500 block of Gateway East near Buffalo Soldier Road. Authorities said a Mercury Mountaineer lost control and struck a utility pole around 1:45 a.m. Lopez, a backseat passenger, was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries. Other occupants were also involved. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
