Teen dies in single-vehicle crash at Broadway and Miller Street

A tragic accident occurred on June 7 in Santa Maria, California, when 16-year-old Guendi Beatrice Gamez Escalante was among the occupants of a vehicle that crashed into a traffic signal at South Broadway and Miller Street. Authorities said Escalante was pronounced dead at the scene along with four other teenagers. One of another victim, 19-year-old Jennifer Gutierrez, also died in the crash. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
