Volkswagen carrying juveniles crashes into tree, alcohol suspected

A tragic accident occurred on April 3 in Monterey County, California, when 16-year-old Edgar Jeremiah Banuelos-Gonzalez of Watsonville was killed after a Volkswagen sedan carrying three juveniles ran off Meridian Road east of Revilla Drive and struck a tree. Two other passengers, ages 14 and 7, were hospitalized. Authorities cite alcohol and excessive speed as factors. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
