A tragic accident occurred on February 15 in Madera County when 15-year-old David Daza Perez was killed in a single-vehicle crash. The car, fleeing deputies, struck a concrete barrier at Highway 99 and Avenue 17. Three other passengers, ages 13, 15, and 25, also died; an 18-year-old was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
