A tragic accident occurred on October 10 in La Quinta, California, when 14-year-old Liam Cantu was injured in a hit-and-run crash. Around 9:06 p.m., a vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Palm Springs man struck him and another juvenile biking near Highway 111 and Adams Street. Liam, a La Quinta High School student, remains in critical condition after brain surgery. The driver faces vehicular manslaughter charges. Authorities are investigating.
