13-Year-Old Sylis Helmick Killed in Iowa Park, TX Accident

A tragic accident occurred on April 18 in Iowa Park, Texas, when 13-year-old Sylis Helmick was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck while riding a bicycle in the 500 block of W. Highway Street. Authorities said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Andrew Nicholas Tellez, was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter after allegedly showing signs of alcohol impairment. The investigation is ongoing.
