13-Year-Old Stephen Rodriguez Killed in Madera, CA Accident

One of them, 15-year-old Benito Mendoza, also died; one critically injured

A tragic accident occurred on February 15 in Madera County when 13-year-old Stephen Rodriguez was killed in a vehicle crash while fleeing deputies. The car lost control and struck a barrier at Highway 99 and Avenue 17. One of them, 15-year-old Benito Mendoza, and the driver also died; a fifth passenger was flown to a hospital in critical condition. CHP is investigating. Thoughts and prayers to the families.
