A tragic accident occurred on April 21 in San Jose, California, when 1-year-old Olivier Carmelo Sgarlata was struck by a vehicle in a parking area along Canoas Garden Avenue near Almaden Expressway. Authorities said the child was hit by a minivan and was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
