Tragic accident that occurred on January 7th in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Seven-year-old Sophia Gutierrez was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle while riding her bicycle at Northwest 136th Avenue and 10th Street. The crash occurred shortly after dismissal from Lakeside Elementary School. According to a police report, the 40-year-old driver behind the wheel of the vehicle suffered a medical emergency, blew through the stop sign and hit the girl. The crash remains under investigation.
