Martha Belcher Dies in Athens, TX Accident

Driver fled after striking pedestrian along FM 2709; DPS investigating

A tragic accident occurred on February 15 in Athens when Martha Belcher was struck and killed by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado along FM 2709. The driver fled the scene. DPS says the truck likely has front-end and driver-side damage. The incident remains under investigation. we send our thoughts and prayers to the family.
