Posted: 2 years ago
Tragic accident that occurred on January 22nd in Forest Ranch, California. Six people were taken to Enloe Medical Center for major injuries after their vehicle was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Jonathan Monday was one of the victims taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Preliminary info is that Richard Swerda was driving a Toyota east when he veered into the westbound lane of Highway 32, just west of Forest Ranch Road. The Toyota traveled directly into the path of Ford that had five people inside. To avoid being hit by the Toyota, the 21-year-old driver of the Ford turned left. At the same time, the Toyota drifted to the right and crashed head-on with the Ford. Swerda fled the scene after the collision; however, he was later arrested for felony hit-and-run, causing injury. The crash remains an active investigation, and officials believe that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be a contributing factor. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
