Jessica Diaz Injured In Groton, CT Accident

Accident on the Golden Star Bridge

Tragic accident that occurred on Thursday, September 30 in Groton, Connecticut. Jessica Diaz was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle  on the right shoulder of the Gold Star Bridge. Mr. Diaz was exiting his Volkswagen Golf when a northbound traveling Subaru Forester struck him. Firefighter Evan DeGaetano approached the pedestrian, called 911, and started medical care until the New London Fire Department arrived. Diaz was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and then Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
