Jeffery Smith Injured In Decatur, GA Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on September 12 in Decatur, Georgia. Jeffery Smith, a crossing guard, was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while on duty at the intersection of South Candler Street and East College Avenue. Decatur police said Smith was struck by a red sedan that fled after the collision. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. A student who witnessed the crash provided police with tag numbers and a description of the vehicle which led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man. The suspect's identity was not immediately released.
