Hometown Chicago Police Officer Killed In Pedestrian Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Breaking news that a Hometown Police Department Officer was killed after being hit by a vehicle while investigating a traffic crash in the 9000 block of Pulaski Road. The name of the officer is being withheld at the request of his family. The Illinois State police, Cook County sheriffs office, Oaklawn Police Department, and Evergreen Park Police Department are all assisting with the ongoing investigation. The veteran officer was on the scene of a crash when a vehicle hit him at around 3:11 AM. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim
