Bicyclist seriously injured at Lafayette Street intersection

A tragic accident occurred on April 30 in Laredo, Texas, when a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle at Lafayette Street and Santa Maria Avenue. Authorities said the victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to Laredo Medical Center for treatment. Police later identified Elvia Ivette Gonzalez, 28, as the suspected driver and arrested her on a felony hit-and-run charge. The investigation is ongoing.
