Two juveniles injured while jumpstarting vehicle on Highway 48

A tragic accident occurred on May 3 in Harlingen, Texas, when Briana Camila Rodriguez was arrested after a vehicle struck two juveniles on Highway 48 near the Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp. Authorities said the victims were attempting to jumpstart their vehicle when they were sideswiped. One juvenile has been released from the hospital, while the other remains hospitalized. Rodriguez later turned herself in and was charged with failure to stop and render aid and collision involving serious bodily injury. The investigation is ongoing.
