Ambrocio Raton Killed In Jo Daviess, IL Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on January 9 in Jo Daviess, Illinois. Ambrocio Maton was one of two people who died in a three-vehicle wreck along U.S. Route 20. The 18-year-old driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Cobalt was headed east and attempted to pass a tractor-trailer. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and collided head-on with a westbound 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 14-year-old. The impact caused the Hyundai to then collide with the truck's trailer. Two passengers in the Hyundai were pronounced dead at the scene. One of them was identified as Maton. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
