72-Year-Old Karen Sutfin Killed In Kankakee, IL Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on March 8th in Kankakee, Illinois. 72-year-old Karen Sutfin tragically died in a two-vehicle crash along Route 17. A Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 77-year-old Joseph Sutfin, was westbound and attempting to turn left onto Route 1 on a green arrow. Troopers said a Buick was headed east at a high rate of speed when It failed to stop at the red light and collided with the Chevrolet. Karen Sutfin, a passenger in the Chevy, tragically succumbed to injuries from the crash. Frazier was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol; failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident; and failure to yield at a stop intersection. The crash remains under investigation by ISP. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
