72-Year-Old Harold Gorter Killed In Marion, IA Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on July 16th in Marion, Iowa. 72-year-old Harold Gorter lost his life when the tractor he was driving was hit from behind by a passenger vehicle along Iowa Highway 163. Gorter was operating a 1974 Ford 7000 tractor westbound along Iowa Highway 163 when a westbound 2002 Honda Accord collided with the rear-end of the tractor. Gorter was ejected in the crash and sadly died from his injuries. The ISP continues to investigate the incident.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
