Tragic accident that occurred on August 26 in Springfield, Illinois. 69-year-old Gordon Matthews was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 29 and Tuxhorn Road. Matthews’ death resulted from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, officials said. The collision remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the coroner’s office.
