66-Year-Old Leslie Karel Killed in Richland, WA Accident

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Suspected DUI Driver

A tragic accident occurred on August 10 in Richland, Washington, when 66-year-old Leslie Karel was struck by a suspected DUI driver on George Washington Way near the Safeway shopping center at about 10:30 p.m. Karel, originally from Yakima and living in Richland, died from his injuries. The 40-year-old driver was arrested for vehicular homicide. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
