60-Year-Old Lester Walker Killed In Huntsville, TX Accident

DUI wreck on Highway 30

Tragic accident that occurred on February 5th in Huntsville, Texas. 60-year-old Lester Walker lost his life when the car he was a passenger in was struck from behind by an alleged drunken driver along Highway 30. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Kia sedan with three passengers on board was northbound on Texas Highway 30 and slowed for a stop sign at the intersection with Farm-to-Market 2821. As the car stopped, a Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck failed to decrease its speed and crashed into the rear of the Kia. The driver of the Dodge fled the scene. Lester Walker, who was a back-seat passenger in the Kia, succumbed to injuries from the crash. Police later located the hit-and-run suspect, 23-year-old James Nash, at his home off of Fish Hatchery Road. He was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter. The crash remains under investigation by the DPS accident reconstruction team. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
