One of them, 57-year-old Daniel Cortez, tragically died at the scene. Daniel, who was riding his motorcycle along State Highway 27 near Bluff Creek Road North, was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling the wrong way. His family members, Cody Cortez, 34, and Courtney Cortez, 25, were also victims of the crash, and they too succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter.
