54-Year-Old David Johnson Killed In Malta, NY Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on February 6th in Malta, New York. 54-year-old David Johnson was one of two victims who lost their lives when they were hit by a box truck along the Northway in the Adirodacks. State troopers reported that  59-year-old Fred Baxtrome was southbound in the center lane of Interstate 87 in a 2016 Honda SUV when he was struck from behind by a 2018 Buick SUV. The Buick crossed the median after the impact and came to rest in the center northbound lane. Johnson stopped to assist and as he stood behind the SUV, he was struck by a northbound box truck driven by Jennifer Aidoo. Johnson was tragically  pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in Baxtrome’s vehicle were taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation. New York State Police continue to investigate the accident.
