50-Year-Old Gerald Rigg Jr. Injured In Mesopotamia, OH Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, April 4 at around 3:35 PM in Mesopotamia, Ohio. 50-year-old Gerald Rigg Junior was seriously injured when his vehicle was struck head on by another driver on State Route 87. Steven Drotar failed to negotiate a curve and veered into the westbound lane striking Rigg’s vehicle. Rigg was rushed to Geauga University Hospital and then life flighted to Cleveland University Hospital with life threatening injuries. Drotar died from injuries sustained in the crash. The accident remains under investigation and we send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
