50-Year-Old Donald Blackmon Injured In Danville, IL Accident

Multi vehicle collision on Interstate 74

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 2 at around 9:41 PM in Danville, Illinois. 50-year-old Donald Blackmon was seriously injured in a multivehicle chain reaction accident caused by a drunk driver on Interstate 74. 42-year-old Joseph Cast was traveling eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a concrete bridge barrier. The car rebounded back into the roadway where it came to a rest. 63-year-old Jennifer Scott, who was operating a Ford F150 pick up truck towing a U-Haul trailer, struck the jeep, causing the U-Haul to separate from the pick up and hit a third oncoming vehicle. Blackmon, the driver of a Dodge Durango, struck an SUV that had stopped to avoid the wreck. Cast was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper lane usage. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victims.
